Monthly Performance Review of Publicly Offered CII in Ukraine. November 2022
In November, the Ukrainian stock exchanges ended the month with the following indicators: the UX index decreased by -3.54%, the PFTS index again ended the month "at zero".
In November, the sectors of collective investment institutions according to the indicator rate of return "since the beginning of the year" were distributed as follows: the sector of open-ended funds -11.59% (-5.41% for the month)) and the sector of closed-end CIIs -23.64% (-23.04% for the month), there were no data on interval CII.
OPEN-ENDED FUNDS
According to UAIB data, the value of net assets (NAV) of 16 open-ended CIIs as at November 30, 2022 was UAH 154.58 M. According to the indicators at the end of November, the total decrease of the NAV amounted to -UAH 6,440.37 k (-4.01%).
All funds of the sector ended the month mainly with an increase of rate of return, only six funds "went into the red". Rate of return in the sector ranged from +1.58% to -23.75%.
According to the results of November, the leaders in the growth of the net assets value (NAV) in the sector were:
"UNIVER.UA/Mykhailo Hrushevskyi: Fond Derzhavnykh Paperiv" (+UAH58.19 k (+1.35%)) – the increase of NAV occurred exclusively due to the growth of the investment portfolio components, there was no attraction of investors' funds;
"UNIVER.UA/Yaroslav Mudryi: Fond Aktsii" (+UAH 52.01 k (+0.53%)) – similarly, the increase of NAV was due to a positive revaluation of the investment portfolio;
"Altus-Zbalansovanyi" (+UAH 46.88 k (+1.13%)) - the increase of NAV occurred exclusively due to the growth of the investment portfolio components, there was no attraction of investors' funds either.
The following funds made the largest payments to investors in November:
"OTP Klasychnyi"(-UAH 450.43 k (-0.53%)) – the purchase of a significant number of investment certificates from fund's participants (-2.08% of IC in circulation) led to a net outflow of capital in the amount of -UAH 1,770.54 k;
"VSI"(-UAH 353.72 k (-13,40%)) – the net outflow of capital was -UAH 358.30 k, which is connected with the purchase of 215 certificates from investors (-13.54% in circulation).
The list of the main sector's players in November was as follows: the first placeamong open-ended CIIs in terms of market share was taken by the "OTP Klasychnyi" fund (54.45% of the total NAV (UAH 84.17 M)), the second place was taken by the "KINTO- Klasychnyi" fund (13.78% (UAH 21.30 M), the third place went to the fund "UNIVER.UA/Mykhailo Hrushevskyi: Fond Derzhavnykh Paperiv" (6.33% (UAH 9.79 M)). The fund "OTP Fond Aktsii" (6.20% (UAH 9.58 M)) took the fourth position, the "Altus-Deposyt" fund was on the honorable fifth place (3.54% (UAH 5.48 M)).
The following funds demonstrated the highest level in terms of rate of return:
"OTP Klasychnyi"(+1.58%), "UNIVER.UA/Mykhailo Hrushevskyi: Fond Derzhavnykh Paperiv" (+1.35%) and "Altus-Zbalansovanyi" (+1.13%).
The lowest indicators of changes in the value of investment certificate securities in November were demonstrated by the funds: "Sofiivskyi" (-23.75%), "KINTO-Ekviti" (-21.00%) and "OTP Fond Aktsii" (-20.73%).
INTERVAL FUNDS
The data provided was not enough to evaluate the activity of interval CII in November.
CLOSED-END FUNDS
The value of net assets of two closed-end CIIs, which were included in the review for November, amounted to UAH 5.99 M at the end of the month. According to the provided indicators, the total NAV of these funds decreased by UAH 3,096.92 k(-34.06%).
Rate of return in the sector was as follows: "KINTO-Hold" (+6.39%) and "Indeks Ukrainskoi Birzhi" (-52.47%).
