Monthly Performance Review of Publicly Offered CII in Ukraine. May 2021

According to the results of the month, the UX index increased by 2.84%, and the PFTS index increased by 0.23%.

By the rate of return, sectors of CII with public issue had the following breakdown of the results: closed-end funds (+7.25% (+4.70%)), open-ended CII (+4.77% (+2.42%)), interval funds were in third place (+0.25% (-0.13%)).

OPEN-ENDED FUNDS

According to the UAIB, the value of the net assets (NAV) of 16 open-ended CII as at 31 May 2021 amounted to UAH 173.40M. According to the data provided at the end of May, the total decrease of net assets amounted toUAH 9,864.26k (-5.38%). The volume of investments of investors in May exceeded the volume of payments and the total net capital outflow in the sector amounted to UAH 14,683.09k.

The scope for rates of return of open-ended CII ranged from +12.21% to -2.27%.

According to the results ofMay, the following funds were the leaders of growth in the sector of open-ended CII:

UNIVER.UA/Iaroslav Mudryi: Fond Aktsii” (+UAH 439.17k (+5.28%)) – increase in NAV and attraction of investors' funds (+6.17% in circulation) allowed the fund to obtain net capital inflow in the amount of UAH 507.43k;

“OTP Fond Aktsii” (+UAH 1,073.07k (+8.74%)) - due to the positive revaluation of the components of the investment portfolio and the increase by +2.47% of certificates in circulation, the fund received UAH 320.43k;

The largest decrease in NAV was recorded by the following funds:

“OTP Klasychnyi” (-UAH 14,651.95k (-15,69%)) - due to payments to investors (-16.44% in circulation), the fund recorded a net outflow in the amount of UAH 15,474.85k;

“KINTO-Klasychnyi” (+UAH 2,291.80k (+7.60%)) - despite the increase in the value of the components of the investment portfolio, the redemption of a small number of investment certificates (-0.13% in circulation) from the fund participants led to an outflow of capital in the amount of UAH 40.88k.

“OTP Klasychnyi” (45.39% of the total NAV (UAH 78.71M)) took the first place among the open-ended CII in terms of market share, the second one was the “KINTO-Klasychnyi” (18.72% of total NAV (UAH 32.46M)), the third got the fund “OTP Fond Aktsii” (7.70% (UAH 13.36M). Fourth place was taken by the fund “UNIVER.UA/Iaroslav Mudryi: Fond Aktsii” (5.05% (UAH 8.76M), the fund “UNIVER.UA/Myhailo Hrushevskyi: Fond Derzhavnykh Paperiv” (4.80% (UAH 8.31M)) closes the top five.

Thefollowingfundswereamongtheleadersintermsofrateofreturn:

“KINTO-Ekviti” (+12.21%), “KINTO-Klasychnyi” (+7.74%) and “OTP Fond Aktsii” (+5.91%).

The worst indicators in May were demonstrated by funds:

“Nadbannya” (-2.27%), “UNIVER.UA/Iaroslav Mudryi: Fond Aktsii” (-0.84%) and “VSI” (-0.73%).

INTERVAL FUNDS

In May, the review included 4 interval CII, whose net assets, according to UAIB, amounted to UAH 20.07M. Compared to the indicators of this sector at the end of the previous month, the total NAV decreased by UAH 220.89k (-1.09%).

No fund made payments to investors and did not attract their funds, so no changes in net capital in the sector were recorded.

Based on the rates of return, funds in the sector had the following breakdown of the results:"TASK Ukrayinskyy Kapital" (+2,64%), "Aurum" (-0,21%), "Platinum" (-0,24%) and "Parytet" (-2,72%).

CLOSED-END FUNDS

The net asset value of 3 closed-end CII included in May review, at the end of the month amounted to UAH 17.14M. According to the provided data, total NAV of these funds increased by UAH 1164.46k (+9.18%).

No fund made payments to investors and did not attract their funds, so no changes in net capital in the sector were recorded.
