Monthly Performance Review of Publicly Offered CII in Ukraine. October 2022

In October, the Ukrainian stock exchanges ended the month with the following indicators: the UX index fell by -4.34%, the PFTS index closed "at zero".

In October, the sectors of collective investment institutions were distributed by the indicator of rate of return "since the beginning of the year" as follows: the sector of open-ended funds -7.79% (+0.26% for the month), closed-end CIIs took the second place -14.64% (- 1.93% for the month),  and there were no data on interval CIIs.

OPEN-ENDED FUNDS

According to the UAIB, the value of net assets (NAV) of 15 open-ended CIIs as at 31.10.2022  amounted to UAH 160.65 M. According to the indicators as at the end of October, the total decrease of the NAV amounted to -UAH 14,051.55 k (-8.04%).

Funds of this sector ended the month mainly with increasing rate of return, only five funds recorded a negative result. The range of open-ended CIIs’ rate of return was from +2.59% to -3.53%.

According to the results of October, the leaders of  the growth of NAV in the sector were:

"OTP Fond Aktsii” (+UAH 75.77 k (+0.78%)) - the increase in the value of net assets (NAV) occurred due to a positive revaluation of portfolio components;

"KINTO-Ekviti" (+UAH 39.64 k (+1.95%)) - similarly, the increase in NAV was associated with a positive revaluation of the investment portfolio, no changes in net capital were recorded;

"Altus-Zbalansovanyi" (+UAH 33.08 k (+0.80%)) - similarly, the increase in NAV occurred exclusively due to the growth of the components of the investment portfolio, no changes in net capital were recorded.

The following funds made the largest payments to investors in October:

"OTP Klasychnyi" (-UAH 13,817.49 k (-14.04%)) - due to the purchase from investors of a significant amount of IC (-14.75% in circulation), the fund received the largest outflow of net capital in the sector in the amount of - UAH 14,553.81 k;

"KINTO-Kaznacheiskyi" (+UAH 100.99 k (+2.32%)) - despite the positive revaluation of the investment portfolio, the purchase of a small number of investment certificates from fund's participants (-0.27% in circulation) led to a net outflow of capital in the amount of -UAH 11.70 k;

"OTP Fond Aktsii" (-UAH 420.89 k (-3.37%)) - the change in the NAV occurred solely due to the decrease in the value of the components of the investment portfolio, no changes in net capital were recorded.

The list of the main players of the sector in October was as follows: the first place among open-ended CIIs in terms of market share was taken by the "OTP Klasychnyi" fund (52.68% ( UAH 84.62 M), the second place was taken by the "KINTO-Klasychnyi"  fund (14.38% of the total NAV (UAH 23.10 M)).The third place went to the fund "OTP Fond Aktsii" (7.52% (UAH 12.07 M); the fund "UNIVER.UA/Yaroslav Mudryi: Fond Aktsii” (6.06% (UAH 9.74 M)) was in the fourth place, the "Altus-Deposyt" fund (3.39% (UAH 5.45 M)) took the honorable fifth place.

The following funds demonstrated the highest level in terms of rate of return:

"KINTO-Kaznacheiskyi" (+2.59%), "KINTO-Ekviti" (+1.95%) and "OTP Klasychnyi" (+0.84%).

The lowest indicators of changes in the value of their securities in October were shown by the funds: "OTP Fond Aktsii" (-3.53%), "Sofiivskyi" (-0.87%) and "KINTO- Klasychnyi" (-0.45%).

INTERVAL FUNDS

The data provided were not enough to evaluate the performance of interval CII in October.
 

CLOSED-ENDFUNDS

The value of net assets of 2 closed-end CIIs, which were included in the review for October, amounted to UAH 9.09 M at the end of the month. According to the provided indicators, the total NAV of these funds decreased by -UAH 122.82 k(-1.93%).
