Monthly Performance Review of Publicly Offered CII in Ukraine. September 2022
In September, the Ukrainian stock exchanges closed with the following indicators: the UX index increased by +0.37%, and the PFTS index closed "at zero".
Sectors of collective investment institutions with public offering (CII) ended the month (according to the rate of return index "since the beginning of the year") as follows: open-ended funds
-8.02% (-11.17% for the month), closed-end CIIs -49.89% (-51.87% for the month), and there were not enough data provided to evaluate the activity of the interval CII.
OPEN-ENDED FUNDS
According to the UAIB, the value of net assets (NAV) of 15 open-ended CIIs as at September 30, 2022 was UAH 174.70 M. According to the indicators at the end of September, the total decrease of the NAV amounted to -UAH 14,186.97 k (-7.51%).
The vast majority of funds in the sector ended the month with a decrease of rate of return, only three ones recorded an increase of indicators. The range of open-ended CIIs’ rate of return was from +0.60% to -57.03%.
According to the results of September, the leaders of the net asset value growth (NAV) in the sector became:
"Altus-Deposyt" (+UAH 22.74 k (+0.42%)) - growth occurred due exclusively to the increase of the investment portfolio’s components value;
"Altus-Zbalansovanyi" (+UAH 22.47 k (+0.55%)) - the attraction of investors' funds was not recorded, the increase of NAV was due to positive revaluation of assets;
"TASK Resurs" (+UAH1.56 k (+0.15%)) – similarly, increase of NAV was due to a positive revaluation of the investment portfolio’s components.
The following funds made the largest payments to investors in September:
"KINTO-Ekviti" (-UAH 2,698.64 k (-57.07%)) – the largest decrease of NAV in the sector, which is associated with a negative revaluation of assets, and the purchase of a small number of certificates from investors (-0.09% in circulation) led to an outflow of net capital in the amount of -UAH 2.05 k;
"KINTO-Klasychnyi" (-UAH 8,367.98 k (-26.50%)) - the decrease occurred exclusively due to the decrease of the investment portfolio’s components value;
“UNIVER.UA/Мykhailo Hrushevskyi: Fond Derzhavnykh Paperiv” (-UAH1,229.50 k (-22.36%)) - similarly, the decrease of NAV occurred due to a negative revaluation of assets.
The list of the main players of the sector in September was as follows: the first place among open-ended CIIs in terms of market share was taken by the "OTP Klasychnyi" fund (56.35% of the total NAV (UAH 98.44 M)), the second place was taken by the "KINTO-Klasychnyi" fund (13.28% (UAH 23.20 M), the third place was held by the fund "OTP Fond Aktsii” (7.15% (UAH 12.50 M)). The fourth place was secured by the fund "UNIVER.UA/Yaroslav Mudryi: Fond Aktsii” (5.53% (UAH 9.66 M)), the fund "Altus-Deposyt" (3.10% (UAH 5.42 M)) completed the five leaders of the sector.
The following funds demonstrated the highest level in terms of rate of return:
"Altus-Zbalansovanyi" (+0.60%), "Altus-Deposyt" (+0.45%) and "TASK Resurs" (+0.15%).
The worst indicators of changes in the value of their securities in September were in the funds: "KINTO-Ekviti" (-57.03%), "KINTO-Klasychnyi" (-26.50%) and “UNIVER.UA/Мykhailo Hrushevskyi: Fond Derzhavnykh Paperiv” (-22.36%).
INTERVAL FUNDS
The data provided were not enough to evaluate the performance of interval CII in September.
CLOSED-END FUNDS
In September, one closed-end CII was included in the review, the net assets of which, according to the UAIB, were equal to UAH 6.37 k.
Because of the lack of information, it is impossible to make a comparative analysis for September, 2022.
