Monthly Performance Review of Publicly Offered CII in Ukraine. December 2022

According to the results of the month, the PFTS index closed at zero, and the UX index increased by +11.43%. According to the results of 2022, Ukrainian indices recorded the following indicators: PFTS -0.68%, UX index -9.91%.

According to the change in the rate of return, the sectors of public CIIs were distributed as follows: in the first place were open-ended funds (-11.64% per annum), on the second step were closed-end funds (-21.74% per annum), data on the activity of interval CIIs was insufficient for analysis.

OPEN-ENDED FUNDS

According to UAIB data, the value of net assets (NAV) of 15 open-ended CIIs as at December 30, 2022 was UAH 144.67 M. According to the data provided at the end of the previous month, the total decrease in net assets amounted to -UAH 9,534.50 k(-6.18%). Changes in net capital in the sector amounted to -UAH 11,022.04 k.

According to the results of December, the indicators of funds' rate of return were divided 50 by 50, half of them were with a growth, and half of funds were with a decrease. The scope of investment funds' rate of return ranged from +2.31%   to -3.42%.

According to the results of December, the leaders in the growth of the value of net assets (NAV) in the open-ended CIIs sector were:

 "KINTO-Klasychnyi"(+UAH 453.16 k (+2.13%)) - the fund received the largest increase in NAV thanks to the positive revaluation of the components of the investment portfolio;

"OTP Fond Aktsii" (+UAH 217.41 k (+2.27%)) - similarly, the increase in NAV was due to the growth of the fund's assets;

"KINTO-Kaznacheiskyi". (+UAH 51.64 k (+1.22%)) – a positive revaluation of the components of the investment portfolio led to an increase in the NAV.

The following funds made the largest payments to investors in December:

"OTP Klasychnyi" (-UAH 10,025.22 k (-11.91%) - the largest net outflow for the month in the amount of -UAH 10,962.89 k, related to the desire of investors to fix income (-13.00% of the IC in circulation);

"UNIVER.UA/Yaroslav Mudryi: Fond Aktsii" (-UAH 211.66 k (-2.16%) - presentation by investors to repayment of 55 pieces of IC led to an outflow of net capital in the amount of -UAH 59.15 k .

The first place among open-ended CIIs in terms of market share was taken by the "OTP Klasychnyi" fund (51.25% of the total NAV (UAH 74.15 M)), the second step -  by the "KINTO- Klasychnyi" fund (15.04% of the total NAV (UAH 21.76 M)), the third place was taken by the fund "OTP Fond Aktsii" (6.77% (UAH 9.80 M)). The fourth place was taken by the fund "UNIVER.UA/Yaroslav Mudryi: Fond Aktsii" (6.62% (UAH 9.58 M ), the honorable fifth place was occupied by "Altus-Deposyt" (3.81% (UAH 5.51 M )).

Among the leaders in terms of rate of return, the following funds stood out: "OTP Fond Aktsii" (+2.31%), "KINTO- Klasychnyi" (+2.13%) and "OTP Klasychnyi" (+1.25%).

The lowest returns in December were shown by the funds "Nadbannia" (-3.42%), "UNIVER.UA/Volodymyr Velykyi: Fond Zbalansovanyi" (-1.96%) and "UNIVER.UA/Yaroslav Mudryi: Fond Aktsii" ( -1.57%).

INTERVAL FUNDS

In December, the provided data was not enough, which made it impossible to conduct a comparative analysis of the activity of interval CIIs.

CLOSED-END FUNDS

The value of the net assets of two closed-end CIIs, which were included in the review, amounted to UAH 6.08 M at the end of the month. According to the provided indicators, the total NAV of these funds increased by +UAH 88.70 k (+1.48%).

Rate of return of closed-end funds in December: "KINTO-Hold" (+2.94%) and "Indeks Ukrainskoi Birzhi" (-0.01%).
