Monthly Performance Review of Publicly Offered CII in Ukraine. November 2017
In November Ukrainian stock exchanges completed the month with minor growth: the UX index increased by +0.74%, the PFTS index by +0.97%.
Sectors of public collective investment instituions were distributed in November by rates of return "from the beginning of the year" as follows: the leader was sector of closed-end funds +35.50% (+0.06% for the month), the second place was taken by open-ended CII +22.07% (+0.65% for the month), and interval CII were on the third place with an indicator of +8.79% (+0.08% for the month).
OPEN- ENDED FUNDS
According to the UAIB data, value of net assets of 15 open-ended CII as at 30.11.2017 amounted to UAH70.82 mln. According to indicators as at the end of November, the total decrease of NAV amounted to -UAH 896.86 thsd. (-1.32%).
Sector’s funds completed the month mainly with increasing rates of return, only three funds recorded negative results. Range of open-ended CIIs’ rates of return was from +1.84% tо -2.03%.
Based on November results, the following funds were the growth leaders in the sector:
"OTP Fond Aktsii" (+UAH 1,167.85 thsd. (+17.67%)) – due to positive revaluation of portfolio’s components and significant placement of certificates (+17.99% in circulation) received net inflow of capital in the amount of UAH 1,181.76 thsd.;
“KINTO-Klasychnyi” (+UAH 186.38 thsd. (+0.70%)) – due to attraction of investors' funds (+0.04% in circulation) and growth of investment portfolio received a net inflow in the amount of +UAH 11.43 thsd.;
“KINTO-Ekviti” (+UAH 75.90 thsd. (+1.60%)) – received UAH 9.45 thsd. of net inflow due to attraction of investors' funds and positive revaluation of portfolio.
The largest payments to investors were made in November by the following funds:
“UNIVER.UA/Mykhailo Hrusevskyi: Fond Derzhavnyh Paperiv” (-UAH 2,180.06 thsd. (-33.86%) – ransom of great number of certificates from fund’s participants (-34.64% in circulation) led to net outflow of capital in the amount of –UAH 2,236.38 thsd.;
“UNIVER.UA/Таras Shevchenko: Fond Zaoshchadzhen” (-UAH 129.85 thsd. (-4.10%)) – net outflow comprised –UAH 161.54 thsd., due to redemption of certificates from investors (-5.10% in circulation);
“VSI” (-UAH 45.62 thsd. (-2.61%)) –in the same way, due to presentation to purchase of 47 certificates by investors, the fund received - UAH 60.97 thsd. of net outflow.
The list of major players in the sector experienced minor changes in Nobember. The first place among open-ended CII in terms of market share was taken by the fund “KINTO-Klasychnyi” (37.99% of the total NAV (UAH 26.90 mln.)), the second place was taken by the fund “OTP Fond Aktsii” (10.98% (UAH 7.78 mln.)). Fund “Sofiivskyi” received the third place (8.47% (UAH 6.00 mln.)), fund “KINTO-Ekviti” (6.82% (UAH 4.83 mln.)) lifted to the fourth place and fund "UNIVER.UA/Mikhailo Hrushevskyi: Fond Derzhavnykh Paperiv" (6.01% (UAH 4.26 mln.)) located on the honorable fifth place.
The highest rates of return were demonstrated by the following funds:
“UNIVER.UA/Yaroslav Mudryi: Fond Aktsii (+1.84%), “KINTO-Ekviti” (+1.40%) and “TASK Resurs” (+1.18%)
The worst indicators of changes in value of their securities were demonstrated in November by the following funds: “Nadbannia” (-2.03%), “Sofiivskyi” (-0.44%) and “OTP Fond Aktsii” (-0.27%).
INTERVAL FUNDS
In November the review included 3 interval CII, whose net assets, according to UAIB data, amounted to UAH3.23mln. In comparison with indicators of this sector as at the end of the previous month, the total NAV of funds increased by +UAH 7.35thsd. (+0.23%).
Fund “TASK Ukrainskyi Kapital” (+0.97%) became the leader by rates of return; funds “Optimum” (-0.58%) and “Parytet” (-0.16) demonstrated the worst performance indicators for changes in the value of their securities.
CLOSED-ENDFUNDS
Net asset value of 2 closed-end CII, which were included in November survey, as at the end of the month amounted to UAH 9.44 mln. According to the provided indicators, the total NAV of these funds increased by +UAH 13.45 thsd. (+0.14%).
